Questions and Answers

What if my position structure is complicated?
We welcome nurse scientists with full-time, part-time, consulting, hybrid (e.g., academic-practice partnerships), or split (e.g., part research and part clinical or administrative) positions in any practice setting, from small clinics to large health systems.

What if I work in academia?
We welcome nurse scientists who have joint or hybrid research appointments between academic and clinical practice settings, and academic colleagues who are building academic-practice partnerships. Attendees should have some direct responsibility for supporting research within a clinical practice setting outside of academia (beyond conducting your own program of research in a clinical setting).

What if I don’t have a research doctorate?
While most attendees will have research doctorates (e.g., PhDs), colleagues with DNPs or other degrees are welcome to attend, provided that their role is focused on leading or supporting research.

What if I don’t conduct my own research?
While most attendees will have their own programs of research, we welcome colleagues whose work is focused on research translation and evidence-based practice, and those who support research infrastructure and clinical nurses’ engagement in research.

What if I am not a nurse or a researcher?
We welcome attendees who can contribute substantively to the conference goals. For example, chief nursing officers, chief medical officers, academic deans, public health officials, and other administrative leaders who have been directly involved with building the infrastructure to support nursing research are encouraged to attend.
